Charlotte Church’s historic Welsh home has gone on the market for £695,000.
The four-bedroom property, which dates back to the mid-1600s, features a concealed music studio nestled within its tropical grounds.
It is thought to rank among the oldest residences located in the Old Village area of Barry.
Church and her musician husband, Jonathan Powell, bought the cottage about two years ago following the sale of The Spinney, their six-bedroom mansion in nearby Dinas Powys.
Church initially purchased The Spinney for £1.3 million after separating from former Wales rugby star Gavin Henson in 2010.
After undertaking extensive renovations, she married Powell at the property in 2017.
That mansion reportedly sold for £2.1 million in 2024.
At the time of the sale, Church said that she was “not a millionaire anymore”, and admitted that she had sunk “pretty much” her entire life savings into renovating the property.
Church later said that her decision to relocate to Barry was driven partly by a desire to live nearer to her family.
The Old Village house has an expansive interior behind its unassuming facade, and Church and Powell have referred to it as a “real Tardis”.
It has three reception rooms and an open-plan living area, connecting to a modern kitchen and dining space.
On the upper storey, the home has four bedrooms, alongside a family bathroom and a separate shower room.
One bedroom incorporates an en suite and has access to a flat roof section used for sunbathing with sea views.
Outdoors, two garden structures have been transformed into a den and a private music space, complete with its own toilet.
Inspired by their travels across Morocco and Africa, Church and Powell redesigned the garden into a jungle-style layout.
The space is packed with banana plants, fruit-bearing shrubs, herbs and fragrant flowers.
Additional external features include an elevated barbecue zone with a pergola, a patio, workshop, and storage sheds.
A private driveway provides parking for four cars.
Located within walking distance of the seafront, the address is situated close to Romilly Park, Cold Knap Lake and Gardens, and Porthkerry Country Park.
Speaking about the property, Church and Powell said: “We love the spirit of the house; it feels alive and balanced, with everything in its right place.”
The cottage is currently on the market with Fine & Country, South Wales, at a guide price of £695,000.
