Aldi is slashing prices on nearly one-third of its groceries this fall, giving shoppers a break on staples including chicken and fresh produce.
The discount grocer began rolling out the lower prices Wednesday, saying nearly one-third of its in-store products now cost less than they did last year. Those products include ground and organic whole-bean coffee, mixed nuts and dried fruit, paper towels, Elevation Ready-to-Drink protein shakes and Choceur chocolate.
Also among the newly discounted items are Bartlett pears, Autumncrisp grapes, Brussels sprouts, butternut and spaghetti squash, fresh herbs and garlic, French beans, and a wide range of apples and potatoes.
The price cuts include some particularly notable deals on chicken and apples. Honeycrisp apples are now $1.99 a pound, a 35 percent drop from last year’s price and the lowest everyday price Aldi has offered for the variety in more than five years, the company said.
Kirkwood chicken breast family packs are also $1.99 a pound – the chain’s lowest everyday price for the product since 2022, according to the release.
“At ALDI, value is a year-round promise, not a promotion,” Scott Patton, Aldi Chief Commercial Officer, said in a statement. “Customers trust us to help them make the most of their grocery budget, and we never stop looking for ways to run our business more efficiently so we can pass along savings.
Patton said the latest price cuts are focused in part on products shoppers may be looking for as they settle into fall routines and healthier eating habits.
Aldi operates more than 2,600 stores across the US and has continued expanding as it competes with other major grocery chains for budget-conscious shoppers.

The lower prices are expected to remain in place through at least November 3.
