Watch: What we know about Binance’s $6.3bn hack

Binance, the world’s biggest crypto exchange, has been hit by a $6.3bn (£4.7bn) hack – thought to be the biggest in history.

Half of the assets have been frozen but many remain in the hands of the hackers, the cryptocurrency giant said. It later added that it has “begun recovering” some funds.

Two analytics firms have attributed the incident to a North Korean hacking unit, though no one has claimed responsibility. Binance did not directly respond to questions about the incident’s potential links to North Korea.

BBC cyber correspondent Joe Tidy explains more about the hack and what to do if you are affected.
