Girl Scouts will add two new cookies to its beloved offering next year — including one for our four-legged friends.
The new offering includes a dog treat named Patch Pals plus an allergy-friendly cookie called Sparkables, Girl Scouts has said in a press release.
The organization collaborated with Bark on its first canine cookie. It is soft-baked and blueberry muffin-flavored.
The Sparkables cookie was developed with Partake, an allergy-friendly cookie brand that makes its products in a facility free from nine major food allergens: peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat, milk, soy, fish, shellfish and sesame. It is the organization’s first-ever cookie developed for people with food allergies.
The Sparkables cookies are made from a crunchy oatmeal with chocolate chips and sprinkles. They are gluten-free, nut-free and vegan.
Girl Scouts said that the new cookies were “inspired by Girl Scouts around the country who have advocated for expanding the cookie lineup to meet the diverse needs of their communities.”
“For four-legged family members, Patch Pals offer a playful new way to take part in the fun,” the release said.
Much-loved cookie classics such as Thin Mints, Samoas (or Caramel deLites) and Tagalongs (or Peanut Butter Patties) will be returning for 2027.
The organization introduced a new cookie earlier this year called Exploremores, inspired by the flavor of rocky road ice cream. It is a sandwich cookie filled with chocolate, marshmallow and toasted almond-flavored cream.
Girl Scout cookie season runs from January through April, but local availability varies. The two new varieties will be available for purchase from January 12.
Earlier this year, a six-year-old girl from Pennsylvania made history after selling more than 100,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies, setting a record for the most sold in a single season.
Pim Neill, from Pittsburgh, hit the impressive milestone after promoting the cookies on TikTok. She said in each video: “Hi, my name is Pim. Do you want to buy some Girl Scout cookies?”
“People on TikTok rallied,” her dad told CBS Pittsburgh. “They loved her. They adored her. They supported her, and it has been so incredible.”
Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania officials told WPXI they’ve never seen so many boxes sold.
“For us, this has never happened,” Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania’s Mina Beach said. “So this is very exciting that we get to bring girls into Western Pennsylvania.”
