Kim Kardashian has revealed that she spent five years single in order to “heal” from her romantic past.
The reality TV star, 45, recently entered into a relationship with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton; her first public romance since her involvement with comedian Pete Davidson in 2021.
“That felt great. I could focus on my kids and projects that I really wanted to be involved with. I really felt no rush. Like, I really didn’t feel empty,” Kardashian told The Times.
“I felt like I needed my time. I wanted to completely heal and just work on myself. I wasn’t ready to open up. I really wasn’t even thinking about it.”
Hamilton, who split from his ex girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger in 2015, also came to the relationship with Kardashian after a lengthy break.
However, the couple appear to be moving from strength to strength and have been seen together at the Super Bowl, on a trip to Japan, and at Coachella music and arts festival in California.

Kardashian also discussed her single status following her “hard” divorce from Kanye West in an episode of her reality show, The Kardashians, which aired last November.
She admitted: “You get really comfortable being single and the thought of you sharing a bed or your TV shows with someone else becomes less and less appealing because you get set in your ways.”
She added, “It’s OK to close down a bit and focus on the things that I want in life,” but concluded by stating she was “the biggest hopeless romantic” and that “when the right person comes along I’ll be so ready and everything will be fine.”
It comes after Davidson opened up about his fling with Kardashian and the struggles of being thrust into the limelight earlier this week.

“Look, man, that’s a really tough atmosphere if you’re not game,” he told Variety.
“One of the things I love about Kim and that whole family is they’re like, ‘This is what we do.’ I found that very attractive and mature,” he said.
“And I was never subjected to anything I didn’t want to be a part of. She was super respectful of all of it, but the craze of that lifestyle — being followed everywhere, having security and looking over your shoulder — for a guy with mental stuff, and at the time drug problems, was a little too much for me.
“But we’re cool, and I have a lot of love for her, and I knew what I was getting into.”
