Natalie Portman says she’d ‘never been bothered more’ while pregnant

Natalie Portman is getting real about pregnancy after the birth of her third child.

The Black Swan actor, 45, shared rare comments about her family life in a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar published Monday.

Reflecting on living in Paris for a decade, Portman told the magazine that her lifestyle has allowed her to avoid paparazzi while she has been pregnant.

“When I was pregnant in New York and LA, I was followed by 20 men every day. There’s so much interest in pregnant women in particular,” she said.

“I’d never been bothered more,” she continued. “And here, they know, and I’ve been almost completely left alone.”

This pregnancy marks Portman’s first child with her partner, French music producer Tanguy Destable.

She has two older children — her 15-year-old son Aleph and 9-year-old daughter Amalia — with her ex-husband, choreographer and director Benjamin Millepied.

After her newest baby was born in Paris in August, Portman said she is “full of wonder and joy at this magical little human.”

“It gives me a whole new attention to my big kids too, as I am reminded of how recently they were these little fresh creations and how quickly they’ve blossomed into incredible humans with their own amazing personalities and senses of humor and ideas,” the Oscar-winning actor said.

The Independent has reached out to Portman for comment.

Photos published by Page Six last month showed Portman beaming while on a stroll in Paris, with Destable holding the newborn in a carrier on his chest.

The May December star told Harper’s Bazaar in April that she was feeling “awe” about expecting her third child. She shared with the publication at the time: “Tanguy and I are very excited. I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”

As the child of a fertility specialist, Portman said that she grew up “hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant,” adding that she had “so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well.”

“There is a gratitude that when you’re young, you don’t necessarily grasp,” she told the publication. “And there’s a calm and knowing myself: who I want to spend time with, what kind of energy I want around me that makes the experience so beautiful every day. And knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment.”
