More than 12,000 pounds of bacon sold in three states have been recalled due to an inspection error.
Maple Leaf Foods, Inc., located in Lisle, Illinois, has issued a voluntary recall of approximately 12,036 pounds of not-ready-to-eat smoked bacon product that was imported from Canada, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service recently announced.
The product, produced June 9, 10, 12, 13 and 15, was imported without being reinspected and sold to Grocery Outlet distributors and retailers in three states: Idaho, Oregon and Washington, the notice stated.
All of the recalled bacon products are labeled with the Canadian establishment number “EST 1” on the side and the health certificate “2026-S732971612” on the master case boxes.
