Surgery is among the options that will be considered by the Gunners when he returns to London, though an operation would probably require a long-term lay-off to recover.

Major League Baseball effectively outlawed the practice of using iPads during games to access artificial intelligence tools and use of AI to shape in-game strategy.
Teams were installing custom apps that pushed the boundaries of the technology guidelines, and the iPads were being used “beyond their originally intended purpose to include recommendations regarding substitutions, pitch calling and other in-game decisions traditionally made by players and coaches,” according to a commissioner’s office memo obtained by Fox News Digital.

The league memo about AI and the iPads was issued June 11, with the ban fully going into effect on Wednesday before teams resumed play after the All-Star break. As many as one-third teams were using the iPads for reasons beyond its intended use, according to The Athletic’s report.
The league’s review of the use of technology found that no teams broke the MLB’s rules governing sign stealing and electronic-device usage.
“Gotta stop the cheating before there’s cheating now,” one front office executive told The Athletic.

On MLB-issued iPads, there are three tabs. The first contains MLB-provided Statcast data and multiple video angles, the second contains data related to the automated ball-strike system and the third was a custom tab where teams installed apps. That third tab is now prohibited by the league.
Rules have been enacted to try and reduce the amount of live information going into iPads. In-game video is only available on a delay, and rules are posted in all clubhouses that prevent non-field personnel from entering the dugout.

It is not known exactly how many teams used the iPads with live, in-game information, but the league’s decision to suspend the use of artificial intelligence now ensures it will be humans calling all of the shots.

Practice sessions 1 and 2 will air Saturday, Aug. 22, on FS1 and FS2, respectively. Qualifying will take place that evening from 5-6:30 p.m. ET on FS2.
Then, Sunday morning, the IndyCar broadcast booth regulars — lap-by-lap commentator Will Buxton and former drivers-turned-broadcasters Townsend Bell and James Hinchcliffe — will call the warmup from 9-10 a.m. ET on FS1.

On top of the IndyCar action, the International Race of Champions, or IROC, will make its return as a support series for the weekend.
That race is scheduled for Saturday with IndyCar greats Helio Castroneves, Dario Franchitti and Tony Kanaan taking part alongside NASCAR legends Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Bobby Labonte, Rusty Wallace and Bill Elliott using the same Pontiac Firebirds the original IROC series used from 1996 to 2006.

There’s a lot of excitement around this one-of-a-kind addition to the 2026 IndyCar calendar, and, this week, reigning series champ Alex Palou, Indy 500 champ Felix Rosenqvist and Team Penske’s David Malukas were all at the White House to meet with President Donald Trump and to knock out some pit stop practice.
IndyCar has another big weekend ahead. The series heads to Nashville Superspeedway for the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix on Sunday, which will air on FOX immediately after the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final.
General Mills recalled nearly 736,000 Pillsbury bread rolls due to possible glass contamination, according to a notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration earlier this week.
The recall included 3,080 cases of Pillsbury Bread Rolls “Hard Roll Dough,” each containing 180 rolls, for a total of 554,400 rolls, and 1,260 cases of Pillsbury Bread Rolls “Kaiser Roll Dough,” each containing 144 rolls, for a total of 181,440 rolls. The notice says the bread rolls were recalled due to “potential foreign material (glass).”
“Food safety is our top priority at General Mills,” a General Mills spokesperson said in an email to CBS News. “Out of an abundance of caution, in mid-June, we issued a voluntary recall of two frozen dough products baked onsite and sold exclusively at Walmart in-store bakeries in the United States. This voluntary recall is limited in scope, highly contained and all potential impacted product has been removed.”
General Mills distributed the cases of frozen bread rolls in Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.
Based on a description on General Mills’ website, the bread rolls are marketed to businesses rather than to individual consumers.
“Thaw, proof and bake for easy back-of-house preparation and low labor,” the description for the Pillsbury Kaiser roll product reads.
General Mills initiated the recall on June 19.
In addition to Pillsbury, General Mills owns popular brands such as Betty Crocker, Cheerios, Lucky Charms and Nature Valley.
The controversy began when U.S. Men’s National Team player Folarin Balogun received a red card during Team USA’s July 1 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina, meaning he was banned from the team’s next match against Belgium.
However, the suspension was lifted after Trump made a call to Fifa president Gianni Infantino on Balogun’s behalf, which sparked a widespread debate over political influence.
O’Donnell, a longtime critic of the president, said in an interview with Variety published Thursday: “Now, this might be something that people think is silly, but the fact that he called up Fifa and had the penalty revoked for the American team, and America was like, ‘Yeah, that’s good! I didn’t think it was a red card anyway!’
“Well, you’re not the freakin’ ref! You don’t get to decide!” O’Donnell said. “Since when does he get to make and change the rules, the goalposts, whatever metaphor you want to use, and everyone just sits by and shrugs their shoulders?”

O’Donnell went on to condemn the fact that Balogun did not drop out of the game, and that the coach of the American team, Mauricio Pochettino, did not say, “This is not how we win.”

Balogun admitted that he expected backlash after Trump personally intervened in the game. He told CBS, “My initial reaction was I was happy to be back in the team, but when I kind of started to reflect, I knew it was going to cause a lot of controversy, and I could almost see within my teammates a bit of nerves, because it’s something that is so unique.”
He added, “But the closer we got to the game I tried to just focus as best as I could, but it was difficult. A lot of outside noise, and that’s hard to avoid.”

Cases of a diarrhea-causing parasitic infection are rapidly rising across the U.S., forcing warnings from experts about food safety.
Cyclosporiasis is typically spread by exposure to contaminated produce and public health officials believe some of the 7,000 cases nationwide were tied to lettuce.
The best way to stay safe is to avoid foods linked to an outbreak, or heat food to 158 degrees Fahrenheit which kills the cyclospora parasite.
Vigorously and carefully washing food can also help reduce the risk. However, some foods are easier to wash than others and how you do so matters.
“While washing alone may not fully eliminate cyclospora, it enhances protection when combined with cooking or peeling,” Michigan’s health department states.

Buying food that’s prewashed does not guarantee safety, either, the department said.
Firm fruits and vegetables like melons, potatoes and cucumbers, should be scrubbed hard using a clean vegetable brush under running water. Then do a final rinse.
“Even if you plan to peel produce, germs on the outside can be transferred to the inside when you cut it,” the department cautioned.
For softer produce, such as stone fruits and tomatoes, rubbing under water is the way to go.

The outer layers of leafy greens or cabbage should be separated while washing, the Food and Drug Administration says.
“Food safety rarely depends on one perfect action. It depends on several layers of protection working together,” Darin Detwiler, a food safety expert at Northeastern University, told Good Housekeeping.
Soap, bleach, detergent or other household cleaners should never be used on fresh fruits and vegetables, Penn State University warns. They are not intended for use on foods and may leave harmful residues.

These cleaning agents are unable to affect the parasite’s protective outer layer, Don Stoeckel, an environmental biologist and special projects lead at Cornell Produce Safety Alliance, told The Washington Post.
“Likewise, vinegar, baking soda and commercial produce washes have not been shown to eliminate Cyclospora from contaminated produce,” it said.
Vinegar cannot eliminate the parasite but there is some research that showed a solution of vinegar and water helped to remove it from raspberries. Though, that could be because of the swishing motion they used and the same was not seen for blueberries, which only required water.
YouTube TV quietly expanded its channel lineup this week with several new additions.
The streaming service recently updated its official channel directory to include networks such as HBCU Go, Cars.TV, Pets.TV and TheGrio, which are all part of Allen Media Group.
HBCU Go is a network focused on historically Black colleges and universities. The channel features college sports coverage, documentaries, cultural programming and events centered around HBCU communities.
Cars.TV caters to automotive enthusiasts, while Pets.TV focuses on animal-related content. The Grio, meanwhile, provides news, entertainment and lifestyle programming targeting Black audiences.
The additions appear to be part of a growing partnership between YouTube TV and Allen Media Group, the media company founded by entrepreneur Byron Allen, who also serves as the chairman and CEO of AMG.

In May, YouTube TV renewed its carriage agreement with AMG, ensuring subscribers kept access to The Weather Channel. The agreement also kept Comedy.TV, Justice Central and Recipe.TV on streaming service.
“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Google by continuing to provide our weather, news, comedy, court, and lifestyle networks to YouTube TV’s millions of subscribers,” Allen said in a statement at the time, according toThe Hollywood Reporter.
Emily Washkowitz, YouTube’s head of TV and film partnerships, added, “We are pleased to continue our relationship with Allen Media Group. Our goal is to provide a consistent and diverse lineup for our subscribers, and this renewed agreement helps us maintain that commitment.”
The channel expansion comes after YouTube TV recently began offering lower-cost, genre-specific plans, like Sports and Entertainment, alongside its $82.99-per-month base package of more than 100 channels.
Washington — President Trump’s media company will sell faster access to Truth Social posts, where the president often announces policy updates and market-moving news.
Trump Media & Technology Group announced Thursday it will launch a Truth API data feed for Wall Street that provides “real-time access to posts from the highest-ranking Truth Social accounts.” It’s expected to be available beginning Aug. 1, the company said.
“Markets already move on Truth Social posts,” Kevin McGurn, interim chief executive officer at Trump Media & Technology Group, said in a statement.
The company said the API will deliver posts to paying customers in “milliseconds,” and is designed for firms “most impacted by the cost of a delay in information,” including high-frequency trading firms that buy and sell stocks in fractions of seconds. The data feed will “provide continuous 24/7 coverage” and has an archive of posts dating back to 2022, the company said.
McGurn said he expects the offering to provide a “meaningful, ongoing source of revenue” for the company. The company did not specify how much the service will cost.
“Truth API delivers a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform’s most market-moving Truths while advancing our strategy to monetize proprietary assets through a high-margin, recurring revenue stream,” he said.
Mr. Trump founded his media and technology company in 2021, after many of the largest social media platforms suspended his accounts in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot — suspensions that have since been lifted.
Mr. Trump is the highest-profile user of Truth Social, with 12.9 million followers, though his eldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and the White House also have several million followers. The president has often used Truth Social to make major policy announcements, including statements on tariffs and the Iran war that have moved financial markets.
WASHINGTON — The Trump administration has finalized a rule that will prevent international students from staying in the U.S. for more than four years unless they obtain the federal government’s approval, the Department of Homeland Security said Thursday, announcing a departure from long-standing practice.
The rule, which goes into effect in September, also puts in place restrictions on when and how students may change their major or academic program.
Current rules give students significantly more flexibility. They are generally admitted to the U.S. for as long as it takes to complete the academic program, many of which are longer than four years by design.
Higher education leaders have opposed the rule, arguing the change creates an administrative burden for schools, universities and the federal government.
“This action is unnecessary and duplicative,” said Zuzana Wootson, deputy director of federal policy at the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration, a nonprofit organization. “International students are already among the most closely monitored nonimmigrant populations in the U.S. and are subject to rigorous oversight by DHS and academic institutions.”
In a statement, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin described the rule as cracking down on a loophole that international students were exploiting by extending their studies.
“By implementing clear, finite limits on these visas, the United States is reclaiming its ability to properly screen, vet, and monitor individuals within our borders,” Mullin said. “This final rule ensures that foreign students remain focused on their primary purpose: completing their studies and returning home.”
The rule is the latest in a series of Trump administration crackdowns on international students. Last spring, widespread terminations of students’ legal status sent students scrambling to hide or leave the country out of fear they would be detained for being in the U.S. illegally.
The federal government also imposed a requirement for visa applicants to share their social media handles, subjecting them to increased scrutiny. And travel bans affecting more than a dozen countries across Africa, the Middle East and Asia further limited international students’ ability to obtain a visa and enter the U.S. for school.
The rule comes as international student enrollment is declining. The effects are most acutely felt at schools with small endowments and student bodies that enroll a large percentage of international students, who have been recruited from abroad. International students are not eligible for federal financial aid and, as a result, often pay full-price tuition.
Higher education leaders have warned the growing uncertainty could further drive international students elsewhere, with ripple effects throughout the workforce and the economy.
“At a time when global competition for talent is intensifying, this policy sends exactly the wrong message,” Fanta Aw, CEO of NAFSA, an association that represents international education, said in a statement. “It tells the world’s brightest students and scholars that the United States is becoming less welcoming, less predictable, and less committed.”
