Federal regulators have granted expedited approval to Eli Lilly’s new weight-loss pill, Foundayo, establishing it as the second daily oral medication for obesity and related conditions.
The drug, orforglipron, is a GLP-1 medication. It mimics a natural hormone controlling appetite and fullness, similar to widely used injectable treatments. Shipments of Foundayo are set to begin this Monday.
Eli Lilly stated insured patients could get the drug for $149 per month to $349 per month, depending on the dose. This pill joins Novo Nordisk’s oral Wegovy, which has seen over 600,000 US prescriptions since its December approval.

The FDA authorized Eli Lilly’s drug as part of a new program aimed at cutting drug approval times. The agency said it reviewed the company’s application in 50 days.
In a clinical trial of more than 3,000 adults with obesity, participants who received the highest dose of orforglipron, 36 milligrams, lost 11.2% of their body weight –- about 25 pounds on average –- over more than 16 months. That compared with a 2.1% weight loss, or less than 5 pounds, in patients who received a placebo, or dummy pill, according to the New England Journal of Medicine.
Both the Lilly and Novo Nordisk pills resulted in less weight loss than the average achieved with Lilly’s injectable Zepbound, which results in a 21% average weight loss, or Novo Nordisk’s injectable Wegovy, which averages about 15%.
Both once-daily pills promise convenience, but orforglipron is a small-molecule GLP-1 drug that can be taken without restrictions. The Wegovy pill, a peptide, must be taken with a sip of water in the morning on an empty stomach, with a 30-minute wait before eating or drinking.
Users of orforglipron also saw improvements in waist circumference, blood pressure, triglyceride levels and cholesterol levels, the study found.
Side effects, mostly gastrointestinal issues, led between 5% and 10% of participants in the orforglipron study to discontinue treatment, compared with nearly 3% in the placebo group.
About 1 in 8 people in the U.S. have used injectable GLP-1 drugs, according to a survey from KFF, a nonprofit health policy research group. But many more have trouble affording the costly shots.
The pill from Indianapolis-based Lilly will be included in a Trump administration deal to lower prices on GLP-1 drugs.
Even the most dazzling jewellery, despite its perceived invincibility, is susceptible to wear and tear without diligent care.
Over time, the sparkle of gemstones and metals can fade, and a piece’s value can diminish if not properly maintained.
This concern is particularly relevant as gold prices surge, prompting many to consider their jewellery as investments or assets to sell.
“Jewellery is similar to cars … both require constant maintenance and special storage,” explains Heather White, a designer, metalsmith, and professor at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.
Simple everyday habits often contribute to damage or loss. Earrings left casually on a bedside table are easily misplaced, while rings removed for handwashing can vanish down a drain. Furthermore, tossing various pieces into a single container inevitably leads to tangles and scratches, compromising their condition and longevity.
Know what you have
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to jewellery care, because not all pieces are made — or worn — the same. Think about where a piece sits on the body and how much surface contact it gets. A ring, for example, experiences much more daily wear than a brooch.

When you’re buying jewellery, a reputable jeweller can offer care instructions tailored to each piece. And if you’re unsure, be sure to ask.
Even basic at-home cleaning can breathe life back into a long-loved piece. No fancy products required —just a lukewarm water bath with a drop of mild dish soap, like Dawn, which contains surfactants to break down grime. A soft, clean toothbrush can help loosen dirt. You’ll see the residue left behind in the water.
Gizzi adds that a spritz of Windex — also containing surfactants — can work, too. Avoid anything with bleach, and steer clear of abrasive cleaners. A non-abrasive toothpaste might do the trick for harder stones, but never use it on delicate gems like pearls or opals.
Silver, gold and other metals
Metal jewellery tends to be durable, but knowing the specific metal and how it’s made matters.
Sterling silver, for instance, tarnishes easily, especially if it’s not worn often or if you live in a home with a gas stove.
“When a gas stove is lit, it releases trace amounts of sulfur gas,” said White. “It’s harmless to people, but over time it will tarnish silver.”
Gold can generally be worn in the shower, as long as the piece isn’t gold-plated. Plated gold involves a thin layer of gold electroplated onto another metal, and that layer can wear off with friction or exposure to soaps and chemicals.
And whatever the metal, store pieces separately. “If two pieces of metal rub against each other, it increases surface scratches,” said Emily Cobb, jewellery designer, metalsmith and instructor at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
Diamonds, pearls and other stones
Gemstone care varies widely depending on hardness. The Mohs scale — a tool used by gemologists —measures a mineral’s resistance to scratching, from talc at 1 to diamond at 10.
Diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds are considered hard stones and fairly durable. Even so, jewellery with gemstones should have its settings inspected every few years to avoid losing a stone due to a loose prong.

Softer stones like pearls and opals require more delicate treatment. Avoid applying hairspray, perfume or lotion when wearing them. Pearls should be restrung every few years, while opals should be kept out of direct sunlight, which can alter their colour.
“Body lotion and soaps can build up in a gemstone’s setting,” said Cobb. “It can get caked in and dull the shine. A simple cleaning goes a long way — and if at all possible, take off your jewellery before the shower.”
Keep watches ticking
Luxury watches require regular servicing, but make sure you know what’s covered in your warranty. Taking your watch to an uncertified technician can void it.
Also, avoid exposing watches to magnets, which can interfere with internal components and cause them to stick or stop. To clean, use a damp cloth to gently wipe the band.
Store necklaces separately
Necklaces, meanwhile, need thoughtful storage.
“Necklaces should ideally be stored separately,” said Simone Paasche, creative director at Spur Jewellery, a New York–based company that redesigns heirloom pieces.
“If they are stored individually and will remain stationary, they do not need to be stretched out,” she said. “Many jewellery boxes have little hooks, which are great.”
Layered looks — dubbed “neckmess” on social media — are popular, but when removing them, do so one at a time to avoid tangles. And always close the clasp before putting a necklace away, said Jennifer Gandia, co-owner of Greenwich St. Jewellers in New York City.
“This reduces the chance of knots or tangling with another necklace,” she said.
Need to store one on the go? A plastic zipper bag will do in a pinch. Just don’t wrap it in a tissue.
“You might forget and throw it away,” Gandia said.
A glorious four-day respite, the long weekend is the perfect opportunity to experiment with Spring fashion.

Whether or not your weekend is jam-packed full of activities, there’s always time for relaxing with your Easter treats, and that calls for the right attire.

“A structured midi skirt, a fine turtleneck tucked in neatly and tall leather boots work well,” says Robb.
Layer up with some spring pastels and a smart but comfortable shoe, like a low-heeled ankle boot or ballet pumps, as there’ll likely be a lot of standing.

5. Cooking and baking
Whether you’re in charge of the roast or partaking in some light-hearted Easter baking, there’s nothing worse than getting hot and bothered in the kitchen before stepping out to celebrate.
So, breathable and comfortable pieces are your Holy Grail. “A crisp oversized shirt, half-tucked into tapered trousers – stylish, breathable and easy to wipe flour off,” says Robb.
“Sleeves rolled up, hair in a loose bun,” and you’ll be channelling your inner Meghan as a domestic goddess.
Roasted peanut products distributed across 19 states are under recall after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) formally classified the action with an official risk level weeks after the recall was first initiated.
Super World Trading Inc. began recalling the products in February after identifying the presence of a banned sweetener. The FDA has now reviewed the case and assigned a formal classification.
Newsweek contacted Super World Trading Inc. via telephone call to seek comment, but received no response.
The recall involves two varieties of Mei Heong Yuen roasted peanuts sold in 9.17‑ounce (260‑gram) packages, according to FDA enforcement records.
Both products were distributed by Super World Trading Inc., which is based in Brooklyn, New York.
The affected products are Mei Heong Yuen Walnut Flavor Roasted Peanuts and Mei Heong Yuen Garlic Flavor Roasted Peanuts.
FDA records state the products contain cyclamates, a sweetener that is banned in food products in the United States.
A total of 595 cases are affected by the recall.
The products have a shelf life of 18 months and were manufactured by Heshan Mei Heong Yuen Food Pte Ltd. The distributor listed in FDA records is Super World Trading Inc., located at 28 Varick Avenue in Brooklyn.
Specific product identifiers are included in the FDA enforcement report.
The walnut‑flavored peanuts are associated with recall number H‑0642‑2026, manufactured on July 17, 2025, with an expiration date of January 16, 2027, and firm code 401020.
The garlic‑flavored peanuts are listed under recall number H‑0643‑2026, manufactured on July 10, 2025, with an expiration date of January 9, 2027, and firm code 401021.
FDA records show the recall was voluntarily initiated by the firm.
Initial notifications were sent through multiple channels, including email, fax, letters, press releases, telephone calls, and in‑person visits.
No separate press release was issued for the enforcement report update.
The recall was initiated on February 19, 2026.
On April 1, 2026, the FDA completed its review and classified the recall as Class III, assigning an official risk level. The recall remains ongoing, and no termination date has been announced.
What Is a Class III recall?
The FDA uses a Class III recall designation when use of, or exposure to, a product is not likely to cause adverse health consequences, but the product still violates federalregulations.
In this case, the classification reflects the FDA’s assessment that the presence of a banned sweetener does not pose a significant health risk, while still requiring the products to be removed from the market.
