Dr Rhiannon Mihranian Osborne of the health campaign group Medact told the BBC: “Every day that the NHS continues this contract with Palantir makes our health system complicit in Palantir’s violent operations, such as AI warfare, and deeply alarming ideology, which includes powering America and its allies to their ‘innate superiority’.”

Earlier this month, Michigan defeated UConn in the NCAA men’s basketball national championship game.

Shortly after the Wolverines captured the program’s first title since 1989, Michigan forward Morez Johnson Jr. announced he would enter the NBA Draft.

Despite declaring for the NBA Draft, Johnson has maintained his NCAA eligibility throughout the process. However, he has until May 27 to withdraw if he plans to return for his junior season.

Johnson played for Illinois during the 2024-25 season before transferring to Michigan last offseason.

After joining Michigan, Johnson quickly emerged as a key contributor, averaging the second-most points on the team. He also led the Wolverines in rebounding, averaging 7.3 per game.

Michigan head coach Dusty May eventually dubbed Johnson “The Enforcer” and “Junkyard Dog,” a nod to his tenacity on the defensive end. Johnson was named to the Big Ten’s All-Defensive Team.

But Johnson’s offensive prowess didn’t take a back seat to his defensive strengths. His shooting from beyond the 3-point line showed improvement as the season progressed.

Many early NBA projections gave Johnson a first-round grade. It’s unclear how much name, image and likeness (NIL) compensation he would command if he returns to Michigan or transfers elsewhere.

Johnson has been active on social media, interacting with teammates as they consider returning to Michigan for another championship push.

How To Stop Toddler Aggression: Is your toddler constantly hitting you and others? Common triggers and how to control this behaviour | – The Times of India

It’s an unpleasant experience for parents to see their toddlers hit them or others. Such behavior is hurtful, sometimes embarrassing, and for many parents, concerning. Parents start questioning themselves: “Why is my child being aggressive? Am I doing something wrong?” The truth is, toddlers being aggressive is far more common, and almost always, there are some common triggers behind it.

Why do toddlers hit? Here are some of the common triggers

They use “hitting” as a means to express themselves

When emotions don’t find ways to express themselves, they splurge out at once. While adults know how to express emotions in a calmer way, toddlers don’t have that level of understanding or words to communicate. Toddlers experience big emotions such as anger, excitement, and jealousy, but they don’t know what to do with them. Since they lack emotional regulation, their feelings come out in actions instead of words

They can’t control their impulse and get easily frustrated

The part of the brain responsible for self-control and decision-making isn’t fully developed in toddlers. This means toddlers will naturally act before thinking. So when something doesn’t go their way, they react instantly, thus hitting acts like a “reaction.”

Overstimulation, especially when surroundings change

You must have noticed toddlers becoming more aggressive when they are travelling or in a crowded place. It’s because busy environments can overwhelm toddlers very quickly, causing irritability and leading them to hit you.

Unmet physical needs

Sometimes, the simplest explanation is the most accurate. A toddler who is hungry, tired, or overtired is far more likely to hit. At such times what looks like a behavioral issue, may likely be a sign of natural needs. When tolerance drops, the reaction becomes more intense.

How to control toddler’s aggressive behavior:

The way to react matters more than your toddler’s action. What parents should never do is hit them back, or get aggressive in return. Reacting with similar actions complicates the situation even more. Instead parents should:

Stay calm

Easier said than done, but this is the foremost step towards controlling the toddler’s aggression. When you calm down, you will see your child feel the calm presence and regulate his emotions.

Keep a straight face

Your smile works as an “encouragement” to them. Remember to never smile at them when they hit you. Take care of your facial expression and keep a straight face.

Redirect them

Instead of only telling your toddlers what not to do, show them what they should do instead. Teach them to gently stroke the skin instead of hitting. Demonstrate soft touch. And most importantly take care of their needs and help them label their emotions. So, next time you encounter such a situation with your toddler, remember these tips!

World Snooker Championship 2026: Shaun Murphy beats Xiao Guodong with session to spare

World Snooker Championship 2026: Shaun Murphy beats Xiao Guodong with session to spare

Shaun Murphy produced a superb performance to thrash China’s Xiao Guodong 13-3 and become the first player into the 2026 World Championship quarter-finals.

Murphy, a champion at the Crucible in 2005 and runner-up in 2009, 2015 and 2021, led 6-2 overnight against China’s world number nine Xiao Guodong, before winning seven of the eight frames in Friday’s first session.

It meant the 43-year-old eighth seed won his match with a session to spare.

Murphy made breaks of 93, 66, 103, 69, 115 and 103 in Friday’s session to set up a last-eight tie against the winner of the all-Chinese match between reigning world champion Zhao Xintong and Ding Junhui, with the quarter-final beginning on Tuesday and finishing on Wednesday.

“I’m really pleased with how I played. I’m delighted,” said Murphy. “It does not happen often that you win with a session to spare, because everyone is so good.

“I would not say I’m desperate to win another World Championship, but it is close.

“It’s 21 years since that clueless 22-year-old came here and nicked the trophy from everyone. Since then I’ve been trying my hardest to get the trophy again. It’s not been through the lack of trying.”

Murphy last reached the quarter-final stage in 2021, when he went on to the final and lost to Mark Selby, and said he still feels he can improve.

“I’m loving the game, loving practice and still think I can get better,” said Murphy. “The best days are still ahead of me.”
