New terror group with reported Iran ties claims 4 attacks across Europe

A new terrorist group with suspected links to the Iranian regime emerged in Europe last week. Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya (The Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right) has claimed responsibility for four attacks on Jewish targets across the continent.
A synagogue in Liège, Belgium, was the first target of an explosive attack on Monday. An arson attack on a Rotterdam synagogue followed overnight on Friday and an explosive device was set off at a Jewish school in Amsterdam the next evening.
Several sources have linked an additional attack at a Jewish site in Greece on Wednesday with the group, though no specifics were given about the target or method of attack.

Joe Truzman, senior research analyst at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and editor of the FDD’s Long War Journal, told Fox News Digital that when he saw the statement from the organization following their Monday attack, he “thought it was a little bit amateurish.” Truzman said that after videos from the group became to emerge, he “realized that there’s probably something more here to this organization.”
He said that the war in Iran has likely “compelled the group, for whoever is behind this, to start launching these attacks.” Truzman said he “suspect[s] this organization is being directed” and that there is “an entity behind it.”
Truzman says he suspects the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) itself, which he says “has been active in Europe” and has “attempted to eliminate or assassinate dissidents.” Though he does not discount them being entity of an Iraqi militia group.

In addition to anticipating further attacks from Ashab al-Yamin, Truzman said that he is concerned that “the dissemination of [terror] videos online may compel other people to commit antisemitic attacks” in Europe. According to Truzman, Ashab al-Yamin’s videos are “starting to gain traction. They’re starting to get the views, and people are seeing it. And maybe the ones that are radicalized already or are going to be radicalized, may be influenced by these videos, and may commit an antisemitic attack or an attack on a Jewish site.”
He said that the attacks “have been mostly unsophisticated, but things may change, and they may start targeting people, too, during the day, when it’s busy.” So far all attacks have come at night.

Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on X that the group was tied to the regime in Tehran. “A jihadi group tied to an Iranian proxy” was responsible for the string of attacks. They noted that “the IRGC continues to sponsor and export terror across the globe.”
Onlookers are increasingly tying the attacks back to the war in Iran. The World Jewish Congress raised alarm bells about Ashab al-Yamin on X, stating that “security analysts believe the group may be part of Iran’s expanding network of proxy actors operating far beyond the Middle East.” The Congress called on governments to “treat this threat with the seriousness it deserves, dismantle the networks behind these attacks, and ensure Jewish communities can live and worship in safety.”
Amichai Chikli, Israel’s Diaspora Affairs Minister, called the attacks “part of a troubling pattern.” He explained that “terror networks linked to the Iranian axis are trying to expand their arena of activity into European cities and Jewish communities.”

The State Department did not respond to questions about whether it had previously been tracking Ashab al-Yamin, or if it planned to issue a warning to Americans traveling abroad to avoid Jewish institutions.

Israel’s National Security Council recently warned its citizens traveling abroad to conceal items that might identify them as Israeli or Jewish and to “avoid visiting sites identified as Jewish or Israeli” following the first of three shootings at Toronto synagogues in early March.

Hyundai stops sales of some 2026 models and plans a recall after child’s death
Hyundai Motor North America is halting sales of some 2026 Hyundai Palisade models and planning to recall more than 68,000 of the vehicles after an incident that resulted in the death of a child.
The carmaker announced Friday that it was taking these actions due to an issue with second and third-row power seats, which typically allow occupants to adjust the position of the seat using electric controls. The seat controls may not detect contact with a person or object when the seat is folding or sliding, Hyundai said in a statement.
The company said it is pausing sales of 2026 Hyundai Palisade Limited and Calligraphy trims equipped with the power seats. It is also preparing a recall that will include 60,515 vehicles produced in the U.S. and 7,967 vehicles in Canada.
“The recall repair is currently under development and, once finalized, will be performed at no cost to owners,” Hyundai said in its notice. In the meantime, the company said it is developing an over‑the‑air software update that is expected to be available by the end of March.
Incident involving a Palisade
Hyundai’s announcement came after a child died in an incident involving a Palisade vehicle. The company said on Friday the incident is still under investigation and that it does not have full details.
“Hyundai extends its deepest sympathies to her family,” it added.
Hyundai did not immediately respond to CBS News’ request for comment.
On Friday, Reuters reported that the incident involved a 2-year-old girl who was killed in Ohio on March 7.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration told CBS News it “is aware of this recent tragic incident and is in communication with Hyundai to gather additional information.”
Hyundai urges caution
Owners of these 2026 Hyundai models should exercise caution when using the second- and third-row power seat functions, Hyundai said in its notice.
The carmaker advised owners to make sure no objects or people, including children, are in the seat or seat-folding area before operating the power seat.
It also said customers should avoid pressing the seatback button during entry or exit when using the second-row one‑touch tilt‑and‑slide feature to access the third row.

Team USA World Baseball Classic manager Mark DeRosa shared the reason why Robert J. O’Neill, the U.S. Navy SEAL who is credited with killing terrorist Osama bin Laden, was invited to speak to the team last week.
O’Neill spoke to the team before the U.S. defeated Canada in the quarterfinal. The decision sparked a social media meltdown.

But before the game against the Dominican Republic, DeRosa was questioned about having O’Neill in the locker room.
“That was my decision to bring him in,” DeRosa said, via Defector. “He was brought in, actually, a couple of days in Houston. It wasn’t before the Canada game. I think for me there has to be … you never want it to get lost why you’re doing this. Whatever that ‘why’ is and a lot of people, like Paul Skenes said to me when he signed up for this, ‘I want to do this for every service man and woman that protects our freedom. That’s why we wear USA across our chest.’

India eases FDI rules for firms with up to 10% Chinese shareholding – The Times of India
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) on Monday notified changes in the foreign direct investment (FDI) policy to permit overseas companies with Chinese shareholding of up to 10 per cent to invest in India through the automatic route, subject to sectoral limits and conditions, PTI reported.However, the relaxation will not apply to entities incorporated in China, Hong Kong or other countries sharing land borders with India. Earlier, foreign firms with even a single shareholding link to such nations were required to seek mandatory government approval for investments across sectors.A DPIIT notification said, “The expression ‘beneficial owner’ of an investment in India will mean the beneficial owner of the investor entity incorporated or registered in a country other than a country which shares a land border with India”.The term will carry the same meaning as defined under Section 2(1)(fa) of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. Under PMLA rules, controlling ownership interest refers to entitlement to more than 10 per cent of shares, capital or profits in a company.The revised rules also mandate that investments from entities having any direct or indirect ownership link with citizens or firms from land-bordering nations — and not requiring prior approval — will have to follow additional reporting requirements under the standard operating procedure prescribed by DPIIT.The decision to ease the norms was cleared by the Union Cabinet last week. The government had earlier tightened the FDI policy through Press Note 3 (2020) on April 17, 2020, to prevent opportunistic takeovers of Indian companies during the Covid-19 pandemic.Under that framework, investments from entities in countries sharing land borders with India, or where the beneficial owner was situated in such nations, required prior government approval. This was seen as affecting investment flows, particularly from global private equity and venture capital funds with minority Chinese or Hong Kong shareholding.DPIIT has also indicated that proposals for FDI from these countries in specified sectors will be considered under an expedited approval mechanism with a 60-day timeline.Countries sharing land borders with India include China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar and Afghanistan.China currently ranks 23rd in FDI equity inflows into India, accounting for 0.32 per cent share, or USD 2.51 billion, between April 2000 and December 2025.
With gas prices still rising, experts recommend 3 ways to save fuel
As the war in the Middle East drives up energy prices, Americans are feeling the pinch at the gas pump. With elevated prices likely to stick around for the near future, experts say there are some practical steps drivers can take to stretch their fuel a little farther.
Gas prices hit $3.72 per gallon on Monday, an increase of 74 cents, or about 25%, since the war started, according to data from AAA. As prices continue to rise, here are three tips to improve your fuel economy.
Check your tire pressure
Drivers can start by ensuring their tires are properly inflated.
The U.S. Department of Energy says properly inflated tires can improve gas mileage by about 3%, although some estimates say the impact can be as high as 10%. The proper tire pressure for your vehicle can usually be found on a sticker on the driver’s side door jamb or in the owner’s manual.
“Lower-inflated tires will increase the resistance on the road, so properly inflated, the vehicle is going to drive a little bit smoother and be able to accelerate properly,” said David Bennett, AAA senior automotive manager.
Slow down on the highway
Fuel economy gets worse the faster you drive. That’s why experts advise going slower when you can do it safely, including on the highway.
According to Sean Tucker, managing editor for compact and full-size vehicles at Kelley Blue Book, driving 65 miles per hour on the highway is a good sweet spot.
“Today’s cars are geared to be most efficient at that speed, and you lose quite a bit of fuel efficiency the faster you go,” he said.
Small speed adjustments can go a long way. According to AAA, reducing highway speeds by 5 to 10 mph can improve mileage by up to 14%. The roadside assistance and insurance provider says that fuel economy for most cars peaks at 50 mph before tapering off.
Cruise control can come in handy here as it allows you to maintain a set speed while driving.
Avoid hard acceleration or slamming the brakes
Maintaining a steady speed while driving is another way to maximize fuel efficiency. That means avoiding rapid acceleration and braking, according to experts.
These aggressive driving practices can lower gas mileage by roughly 15% to 30% if you’re traveling at highway speeds, and 10% to 40% in stop-and-go traffic, according to the Energy Department.
Experts also recommend coasting to a stop when you can.
“When you see a red light ahead, there’s no reason to rush to be the first one there,” Mackenzie Raetz, the senior editor of freelance for Penny Hoarder, a personal finance website, told CBS News in an email. “Letting off the accelerator and coasting to a stop can help conserve fuel.”

While Cincinnati has been pretty middle of the pack this season — the Bearcats are 15-6 and lost their first conference series to BYU — Coats has been dominant. The sophomore has hit 14 home runs and has a batting average of .418 to go along with 35 RBIs. With the way he has been hitting, the Big 12 will certainly be on watch.

Florida State meanwhile swept then-ranked No. 12 Wake Forest, though it did drop a game to Florida earlier in the week. Can the Wolfpack bounce back on the road? Or have the Seminoles found their groove?
