Trump envoy asks FIFA to replace Iran with Italy in 2026 World Cup: report

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

An envoy for President Donald Trump has reportedly asked FIFA to replace Iran with Italy in the 2026 World Cup this summer.

The Financial Times reported the plan is an effort to repair the relationship between Trump and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, which soured after the former’s comments against Pope Leo XIV regarding the war with Iran.

United States special envoy Paolo Zampolli suggested the idea to FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

“I confirm I have suggested to Trump and Infantino that Italy replace Iran at the World Cup. I’m an Italian native, and it would be a dream to see the Azzurri at a U.S.-hosted tournament,” Zampolli told the outlet. “With four titles, they have the pedigree to justify inclusion.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment by Fox News Digital.

Italy had a chance to be in the World Cup already, but it lost in a penalty shootout to Bosnia and Herzegovina in a qualifying playoff final.

CHELSEA STAR SAYS HE WAS ‘CONFUSED’ TRUMP SHARED STAGE AS PLAYERS CELEBRATED CLUB WORLD CUP WIN

Italy became the first World Cup-winning team to miss three consecutive tournaments after the 4-1 penalty shootout loss earlier this month.

“We still don’t believe it that we’re out and that it happened in this manner,” Italy’s Leonardo Spinazzola told reporters at the time, according to the New York Post

“It’s upsetting for everyone. For us, for our families and for all the kids who have never seen Italy at a World Cup.”

While Zampolli told Infantino about his proposed plan, FIFA’s president said Iran “for sure” will play in the World Cup despite the conflict involving the U.S.

“The Iranian team is coming, for sure,” Infantino said during the CNBC Invest in America Forum earlier this month in Washington, D.C.

“We hope that, by then, of course, the situation will be a peaceful situation. That would definitely help. But Iran has to come, of course. They represent their people. They have qualified. The players want to play.”

Infantino visited the Iranian national team in Turkey, which is where it has its training camp.

All three of Iran’s group stage games are scheduled to be played in the U.S. That remains the case after Iranian government officials suggested to FIFA that their games be moved to Mexico because they could not travel to the U.S.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum revealed FIFA’s rejection of Iran’s request, and it is insisting Iran play where it’s scheduled — SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, and Lumen Field in Seattle. Iran said earlier this month it would only decide on its team’s participation once it heard from FIFA regarding its relocation request.

Iran is scheduled to play at SoFi Stadium against New Zealand June 16 to begin its tournament. It will also play Belgium at the stadium before finishing group play against Mo Salah and Egypt in Seattle June 26.

Trump wrote in a Truth Social post last month that Iran would be welcome to compete in the World Cup as scheduled, though it might not be “appropriate” considering the conflict.

“The Iran National Soccer Team is welcome to The World Cup, but I really don’t believe it is appropriate that they be there, for their own life and safety,” he wrote.

Trump also told Politico, “I really don’t care,” when asked about Iran’s participation in the tournament. Infantino, who has a strong relationship with Trump, said Trump has “reiterated” to him that the U.S. welcomes Iran’s team to compete.

Robert Kiyosaki Quote: Success quote of the day by ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ author Robert Kiyosaki: “Winners fail until they succeed” – The Times of India

Financial educator Robert Kiyosaki challenges the notion that setbacks signal the end, advocating instead for viewing failure as a crucial part of the learning process. His philosophy, exemplified by the quote ‘Winners fail until they succeed,’ emphasizes perseverance through disappointment.

The world is obsessed with quick wins and overnight success, so many people give up the moment they hit a setback. Be it falling short, losing money, or facing rejection, it is often treated like a signal to stop. But for a growing number of self‑motivated learners, the real change and growth begins when they stop seeing failure as the end and start treating it as part of the process.Financial educator and author Robert Kiyosaki has spent decades challenging the idea that mistakes are a sign of weakness. Through bestselling books like Rich Dad Poor Dad, he has introduced a different way of thinking about money, work, and long‑term success.

Success quote of the day by Robert Kiyosaki

Winners fail until they succeed

Robert Kiyosaki

Although these ideas form a small but powerful philosophy for everyday life, especially in a time when many feel stuck in low‑paying jobs, rising expenses, and uncertain careers.

Meaning of the Quote

Robert Kiyosaki’s line, “Winners fail until they succeed,” is not about celebrating failure. It simply says that people who eventually win are usually the ones who keep going despite repeated disappointments. In other words, “winners” don’t avoid failing; they outlast it. The true losers are not those who fail, but those who quit the first (or second, or third) time they don’t get the result they want.

How to apply this in daily life

In daily life, this quote can be lived in simple but consistent actions:Treat failures as feedback, not final judgments. When a project flops, a business idea doesn’t catch on, or an exam is not cleared, ask: “What can I learn?” instead of “Should I quit?”Pick one clear goal at a time. Whether it’s getting a certification, building savings, or starting a small side‑income, choose one focus area and stay with it for at least a few months instead of jumping to the next trend.

Who is Robert Kiyosaki?

Robert Kiyosaki is a well‑known financial educator, investor, and author, born in 1947 in Hawaii, USA. He became globally famous for his book Rich Dad Poor Dad, first published in 1997, which compares the financial mindsets of his “rich dad” (a mentor figure) and “poor dad” (his highly educated but financially struggling father).Since then, he has written many follow‑up books, created online courses, and hosted podcasts and seminars to teach people about earning, investing, and financial freedom. His quotes on failure, focus, and money management are widely shared on social media, motivational websites, and quote platforms

Human remains belonging to multiple young children found in Memphis: Police

While walking a dog in Memphis in early March, a person found what appeared to be a skull near a wooded area — a shocking discovery that has since led to the recovery of what’s believed to be the remains of three young children, Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn Davis said Wednesday, calling the case “disturbing” and “heartbreaking.”

Authorities are now working to identify the children, who are estimated to be between the ages of three and seven, and the “circumstances surrounding their deaths,” Davis said during a press briefing Wednesday announcing the discovery.

The investigation began on March 8, after the individual reported a possible human skull near a wooded area of Hickory Hill, in southeast Memphis, the police chief said.

Officials search an area where the remains of multiple children were found in Memphis, April 22, 2026.

Over the ensuing weeks, investigators with the Memphis Police Department’s homicide unit and the Shelby County Medical Examiner’s Office uncovered additional human remains during a search of the area. The remains are believed to have been there for a “few years,” Davis said. No other items beyond bone fragments have been found, she said.

The search is ongoing in what Davis referred to as a crime scene, with approximately 170 personnel involved. Local, state and federal agencies, including the FBI, are assisting, she said.

“The size of this response reflects the scope of the search area and our commitment to being thorough and not the presence of any immediate danger,” Davis said, noting there is no indication of any active threat to the public.

Davis said a review of recent missing persons reports for the area did not turn up anything, and they are considering the possibility that the children could have been from outside Memphis.

The police chief urged the public to reach out with any information.

“Somebody knows where these children have come from. Someone knows of missing children that we have discovered in this area,” Davis said. “This is heartbreaking, it’s disturbing.”

“At this time,” she continued, “we have numerous resources to help us to identify these young people and bring closure to this investigation.”

Premier League relegation fight: Two down, one to go – who will go down with Burnley & Wolves?

Premier League relegation fight: Two down, one to go – who will go down with Burnley & Wolves?

Every year when the fixtures are announced you hear the familiar refrain that “it doesn’t matter, you play everyone twice”.

But there is no doubt that when you face a certain team can make a big difference across a 10-month campaign.

With five games remaining Spurs will definitely think their run-in, at least on paper, gives them every chance of staying up.

Next up is a trip to Wolves, whose relegation to the Championship was confirmed on Monday.

A home match against Leeds on 11 May is another Tottenham will view as an opportunity, especially if Farke’s side have ensured their safety by then.

Even a tricky-looking match at Champions League-chasing Aston Villa on 3 May comes at a good time for Spurs, as it falls between the two legs of the Europa League semi-final for Unai Emery’s men.

A visit to rivals Chelsea before hosting Everton on the final day is not a straightforward way to finish, given both teams seem likely to be fighting for European places.

But, given how tight things are, that is something all the relegation candidates will have to deal with.

West Ham host Everton on Saturday before an away game at Brentford – and it only gets tougher with title-chasing Arsenal the visitors to London Stadium on 10 May.

Even with Newcastle enduring a disappointing season, an away game at St James’ Park on the penultimate weekend is far from simple and there could be plenty riding on the home match against Leeds on the last day.

Forest arguably face the toughest last five with away games at Chelsea and Manchester United in May – the former coming just three days before the second leg of the Reds’ Europa League semi-final against Villa.

Home games against Newcastle and Bournemouth, on the last day, could be crucial but getting a result at Sunderland on Friday would help alleviate a lot of stress for Vitor Pereira’s side before the remainder of the run-in.

Why does stepping out of the shower feel like walking on ice? | – The Times of India

Why does stepping out of the shower feel like walking on ice? | – The Times of India

That post-shower cold floor shock has a real science behind it, and the fix is simpler than you think

You just got out of a shower, wrapped yourself in a cosy towel and stepped onto the icy bathroom floor. Suddenly, you are wide awake. It is one of those everyday annoyances that nobody really discusses, but everyone can relate to. Here is the thing: it is not because your tiles are actually colder than the rest of your bathroom. The real reason is pretty interesting. It is not about the temperature; it is about scienceYour bathroom mat and tile floor are in the same room with the same air and temperature. However, the second your bare feet touch the tile, heat starts leaving your body. It is because tile floors, whether they are ceramic, porcelain or stone, are really good at conducting heat. They do not just feel cold; they actively pull warmth away from your skin. For example, granite tiles can conduct heat 100 to 150 times faster than a cotton mat. It is quite a big difference. Your skin temperature drops quickly, your nerves sense the loss, and your brain immediately registers it as unpleasant. On the one hand, your mat is made of fibres that conduct heat slowly. They do not steal away your warmth.Does the type of tile actually matter?Yes, and more than most people realise. The study, Thermal conductivity studies on ceramic floor tiles, measured the thermal conductivity of various flooring types and found that porcelain stoneware and red stoneware have values exceeding 1 W/m·K. It means they are very good at dissipating heat from anything warm that touches them. On the other hand, carpets and fabric mats do not show up on the same scale at all. The difference can be seen and felt, and it explains that post-shower gasp every morning.Adding materials like alumina to tile compositions can, interestingly, increase their heat-conducting ability by up to 50%. It is helpful to use tiles with radiant floor heating systems. In this case, high conductivity is your friend instead of your enemy.

Image

The cold feeling from the tiles comes down to simple physics, and your floor is not the culprit.

The heated mat: a simple fix backed by real scienceIf you ever thought about getting a heated bathroom mat but decided against it because it seemed like an unnecessary luxury, you should reconsider. A research published in the journal, Building and Environment, shows that heated mats significantly raise both skin temperature and thermal sensation scores, which is how warm and comfortable people actually feel. Bigger mats and turning up the heat would give the best results. The effect is direct: instead of pulling heat out of your feet, the mat sends it into them. It completely changes the way tile floors felt so unpleasant in the first place.Warmth you can build into the floor itselfThere are passive options worth knowing about for those who are remodelling or just want to learn more about long-term solutions. Insulating materials like polyurethane foam, installed beneath tile layers, can greatly reduce heat transfer by blocking the path between your feet and the subfloor. Researchers are also looking into textured tile surfaces and patterns based on fur and animal coats that trap tiny pockets of air near the surface. It makes the boundary layer thicker and lowers conductive heat loss.Your floor is not at faultThe cold feeling from the tiles comes down to simple physics, and your floor is not the culprit. Tiles are very efficient in drawing warmth out of anything that touches them. A good bath mat makes a big difference, and a heated one makes an even bigger difference. If you ever get the chance to insulate under your tiles, it would be the best long-term investment. Until then, it might be a good idea to keep your slippers close to the shower door.
